Here’s one of my favorite projects of my career. This 16 page book was printed at a whopping 24 in by 36 in, on a beautiful white semi-gloss paper, using a 2 color process of a metallic silver ink and two hits of a black plate. As the sole post production individual of this project I handled all the retouching as well as exploring various ink, substrate, and binding options. Working directly with the vendor to pull color test prints in order to find the perfect balance of chic metallic appeal with a nice solid long black and tangible contrast. At the print run we encountered a couple hiccups, but after a long day of creative problem solving we had a stack of 2,000 beautifully produced book signatures.
A website was created alongside the book, engaging users on ‘what it’s like to be 15 at the same age of the millennium’; featuring footage for each of the kids in the book. I color corrected the video footage to have a similar look and feel as the book, and created different imagery assets for the website.
Overall it was an incredibly diverse project that challenged me wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with a team from conception to completion, and pulling together the best ideas to produce a beautiful and uniquely designed piece.
